I have done it using SoundPlayer (System.Media) class..

SoundPlayer m_objRplayer = new SoundPlayer();
m_objRplayer.SoundLocation = "FilePath";
 m_objRplayer.Play();

It works fine with Internet Explorer and Google Chrome.. Need to check with other browsers..
