Set the DLL C++ project as active project (if more than one project in the solution file) and point to the application from Visual studio Application settings dialog , Then start debugging the application in the usual way.

Select the project from the Solution Explorer.
Right click and select the Properties of the project.
From the Project Designer window, click the Debug tab.
Check the Enable unmanaged code debugging checkbox.
Start debugging the project in the usual way.
