There are standard tools like BoundsChecker available in the market which can can be used to check for all sort of leaks. But most of the tools are expensive :-(

As other users said, you have some tools to detect memory leaks and some techniques like library/DLL injection like in the codeproject article with Linux.

With VC++ you have '_CrtDumpMemoryLeaks()' while debugging that displays memory leak information.
You must define '#define _CRTDBG_MA' to show this info.
